I've been chomping at the bit to start another blog and get to writing for months now. I used to blog at The Atypical Housewife. I wrote about homemaking, cooking, some DIY things. My inspiration to write slowly died as I felt very trapped in what was acceptable to write. I felt stuck in a niche, and didn't think people would appreciate hearing about my first butchering experience, or drawing blood from goats. When you boil it down, I'm in a very different place now than where I was. I'm raising up chickens, goats, and gardens, wondering if that poop looks normal or which egg goes to which chicken. Nothing about my life is perfect, clean, or hair free. I need a place to be open... honest... a place I can write about this messy, dirty, wonderful life. My goals in blogging are not to become famous. Because let's face it, blogging to make money is like farming to make money... a big joke. I hope to build relationships with other like minded bloggers, and give others a glimpse into the life of a female farmer.
My name is Monica, I'm passionate about farming, food, and the humane treatment of livestock.
